Song Overview

“As One Global Ghost” explores the possibility that plasma is more than a physical state of matter, but part of the animating spirit that connects all living things.

The song imagines humanity encountering plasma beings or biblically accurate angels, entities that appear strange and overwhelming yet deliver the simple instruction: “Be not afraid.”

From there, the song turns the question back toward us. If these beings were to meet us at the end of our lives, what would they see? What would they say when they looked at our deeds? And what happens when those same questions are applied to humanity as a whole?

The phrase “As One Global Ghost” was inspired by Library of the Untold, after Joey Phipps used the phrase during an episode discussing plasma and angel beings. Shaun Zizi’s wife encouraged the expansion of the song’s original concept to incorporate plasma, opening the door to a broader exploration of consciousness, life, death, and the nature of the beings that may exist beyond our ordinary perception.

At its core, the song is both a cosmic thought experiment and a moral question. If we are all animated by the same underlying force, what does that make us? And if something greater than ourselves is watching, what will it see when it looks at the way we lived?

“As One Global Ghost” asks us to consider the possibility that the universe is far stranger, more interconnected, and more alive than we normally perceive.

Lyrics

Am I just a ghost
In this fleshy cell
Is there something more
Beyond this shell

My heads in the clouds
Hear them calling loud
We all must riposte
As one global ghost

They will say
Be not afraid

What will they see
When the time comes for us
What will they see
When they look at our deeds

Where do we go?
What will we see?
At the end of you and me
Where do we go?
What will we see?
At the end of you and me

We all must riposte
As one global ghost

My heads in the clouds
Hear them calling loud
We all must riposte
As one global ghost

They will say
Be not afraid

What will they see
When the time comes for us
What will they say
When they look at our deeds

Where do we go?
What will we see?
At the end of you and me
Where do we go?
What will we see?
At the end of you and me

We all must riposte
As one global ghost

Where do we go?
What will we see?
At the end of you and me
What should we do?
Who should we be?
With the life of you and me

What will they see
When the time comes for us
What will they say
When they look at our deeds

Where do we go?
What will we see?
At the end of you and me
Where do we go?
What will we see?
At the end of you and me

We all must riposte
As one global ghost

Should we be not afraid?
Be not afraid
