“Watch The World Burn” originated from a casual conversation between Shaun Zizi and Bryan Underwood during a political discussion, where the phrase was said in passing without serious intent.
Bryan Underwood immediately recognized the strength of the concept and developed it independently the following day, returning with a fully formed demo. That initial version became the foundation of the final recording.
The song explores themes of disillusionment, systemic collapse, and shared moral responsibility through a direct and confrontational lyrical approach.
I'm watching shadows in firelight,
Hollow smiles in the dead of night.
Promises fade, slipping like ash,
In a world built to break, all comes to crash.
The righteous stand, but they’re twisted too,
I see right through the things they do.
They built this stage with hollow words,
And now I wanna watch it burn.
I wanna watch the world burn; let it fall.
See the stars crash down and swallow it all.
No heroes here, just hands stained red,
In the end, we all get what we’ve earned instead.
They spin their lies, painted gold and bright,
But in the dark, they all look alike.
They’ll reap their fate, this house of sand,
Crumbling down just like we planned.
I’m tired of this scripted play,
The hollow words, the games they play.
I’ll light the match and let it turn,
I wanna watch the world burn.
I wanna watch the world burn; let it fall.
See the stars crash down and swallow it all.
No heroes here, just hands stained red,
In the end, we all get what we’ve earned instead.
We’re all guilty, we all take turns,
Sipping poison as the world burns.
Nothing left pure, nothing left clean,
We’re all just victims of our own machine.
I wanna watch the world burn; let it fall.
See the stars crash down and swallow it all.
No heroes here, just hands stained red,
In the end, we all get what we’ve earned instead.
We’re all guilty, we all take turns,
Sipping poison as the world burns.
Nothing left pure, nothing left clean,
Watching the world burn, watching the world burn
